Cyclists to ride to Capitol in support of bike paths
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thursday, February 26, 2009
Cyclists from DeKalb County will join their fellow two-wheeled enthusiasts from Fulton County next week to ride to the Georgia Capitol in what has become an annual political message to state legislators.
The easy-paced ride on Tuesday morning will include police escorts from Decatur and Roswell, with officials from both cities in the lead. Mayors Bill Floyd of Decatur and Jere Wood of Roswell have coordinated the event for four years. Their goal: rally support for a regional network of bike paths and trails. The ride is sponsored by the Metro Atlanta Mayors Association and the group Georgia Bikes!
