Severe weather at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was delaying some arriving flights by more than 3 hours late Wednesday night, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Web site.
“It’s going to be significant delays throughout the evening,” spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said earlier. She said the situation “changes very dynamically.”

Flights had been subject to periodic ground stops through the night, she said. Travelers should call their airline for flight updates, check the FAA’s Web site and “be patient,” Bergen said.
As of about 10 p.m. flights to the Northeast were experiencing weather-related delays ranging from roughly 1 hour to Philadelphia and 90 minutes to LaGuardia, 2 1/2 hours to Kennedy and 4 hours to Newark, all in the New York City area.
