If you think Tuesday morning’s temperatures were cold, just wait until early Wednesday, when readings could be 10 degrees colder.

The National Weather Service is forecasting lows by daybreak Wednesday in the low 20s, with northwesterly winds of 10 mph sending the wind chill plummeting into the teens.

That would be the coldest weather in metro Atlanta since late February, forecasters said.

Lows early Tuesday ranged from 32 degrees at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to 29 in Alpharetta and Dallas.

After Wednesday’s frigid start, temperatures should warm into the mid-50s during the afternoon before dropping into the low 30s Wednesday night, the Weather Service said.

Thursday and Friday will be sunny, with highs in the 50s and lows in the mid- to upper 20s.
