FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Georgia man wanted for allegedly killing his wife has been found dead in southwest Florida of an apparent suicide.

Lee County authorities say 23-year-old Darnell Lauture of Newnan, Ga., was found locked inside his car Saturday. Deputies discovered a contraption that apparently led to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Police say Darnell Lauture stopped by his mother's Cape Coral home early Wednesday morning to drop off the 2-year-old daughter he had with his wife of two years, 21-year-old Stacey. He also left what appeared to be a suicide note.

Soon after, police in Georgia searched the couple's apartment and found Stacey Lauture's body. Stacey Lauture had recently sought a restraining order and the couple were planning a divorce.
