Suspect sought in Waffle House shooting death

Rockdale County authorities are searching for the suspect in the shooting death of a South Carolina man outside a Waffle House last month.

Suveillance footage from shows the suspect fled in a four-door, light-colored Pontiac Grand Prix after walking up to and firing shots into an SUV parked in front of the a Waffle House restaurant on Salem Road, according Sgt. Jodi Shupe, a Rockdale County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

The victim, James Bernard Johnson, 34, of Leesville, S.C., was sitting in the passenger seat when killed by the gunshots on the morning of May 20, Shupe said.

Investigators also hope to find the driver of the getaway car.
