Back in the day, the junior/senior prom for some people meant trekking it to the school gymnasium. Teams of students who made up the decoration committee would get together and pick a theme to deck out the school gym, auditorium, or maybe the local community center if they were really doing it up big.
That was then.

Nowadays, prom has stepped it up a notch, or two, or three. Prom is as much about the location as it is anything else. Prom locations have become extravagant and in some cases there is no decorating required — the location itself gives students most, if not all, the glitz and glam they need. Here's a look at some prom dates and locations for metro Atlanta high schools:
