Motorcyclist killed as car makes illegal u-turn

A motorcyclist critically injured Saturday in a Forsyth County wreck has died, authorities said Monday.

Steven Terry Hitt, 49, of Cumming was riding a 1985 Honda northbound on Castleberry Road about 6:15 p.m. Saturday when he collided with a 2007 Suzuki sport-utility vehicle that was making an illegal u-turn, according to Forsyth sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Shelton.

Hitt was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, then later airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died Sunday afternoon.

The Suzuki driver, Marian J. Anwar, 25, of Cumming, was initially charged with making an improper left turn, but Shelton said additional charges will be forthcoming following Hitt’s death.
