Police are investigating three homes in north metro Atlanta vandalized with swastikas to see if they are connected.

Two homes in Dunwoody and one in Sandy Springs were spray painted Saturday night, police said.

The Dunwoody homes, on Redfield Road and Coronation Drive, also were spray painted with vulgar language and images, including phallic symbols. The graffiti covered the mailboxes, grass, bushes, roadway, garages and vehicles parked in the driveways outside the two houses, Dunwoody Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Carlson said.

Police were also called to a home on Princeton Trace in Sandy Springs after the family found toilet paper covering the trees and a swastika spray painted on a tree, Sandy Springs Police spokesman Lt. Steve Rose said.

Investigators from the two agencies are working together to see if the cases are connected.

“The Dunwoody investigative division is currently looking into this atrocious crime,” Carlson said Monday night.

Rose said it is still too early to tell if the vandalism is a hate crime or some teenagers who don’t know any better.

“We don’t know how it’s classified yet. It’s still under investigation,” he said Monday. Investigators collected some evidence and interviewed the homeowner, he said.

The Sandy Springs homeowner said she did not want to talk to a reporter for fear of her children’s safety.

Anyone with information is urged to call Dunwoody Police at 678-382-6900.
