Motorist killed on I-285 in Sandy Springs

A 38-year-old man struck and killed by a pickup truck Sunday on I-285 has been identified as Reinaldo Flores-Ordonez.

He was killed instantly while he stood outside his van talking to another driver with whom he’d had a wreck.

The pickup truck was traveling east on I-285 in Sandy Springs when it hit the van and the man, police said Sunday.

Mark Guilbeau, a senior investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, said Flores-Ordonez lived in Marietta.

The accident occurred about 6 a.m. The other driver and passengers in the victim’s van suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No charges have been filed.
