Alpharetta teen finishes second on ‘Jeopardy!’

Alpharetta teen Bradley Silverman took 2nd place Friday in this year’s edition of “Jeopardy!” for teens.

Silverman pocketed $44,600 in the final of the popular TV game show that aired Friday night on WATL-TV.

Bradley, a 16-year-old junior at Centennial High School in Roswell, said he plans to study engineering at MIT or Georgia Tech, and plans to use his winnings to pay for college. He was among the best out of thousands of teens who tried out for the game show.

Anurag Kashyap, who attends Rancho Bernardo High School in Poway, San Diego finished 1st and won the grand prize $75,000. Third place winner Audrey Hosford, a student at Archbishop Spalding High School in Annapolis, Md., took home $26,400.

The two-week competition featured 15 students from across the country. The Jeopardy! Teen Tournament was taped at the Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif. on Oct. 6 and 7.

In the Teen Tournament, players compete in a series of five shows the first week. The winners of those games and the four highest money-earners go on to the semi-finals, and the three winners of those shows proceed to a two-game finals match.

The three finalists keep the money they accumulate in the last two games.
