Last year, the Forsyth Academy had 84 graduates and a graduation percentage of 89.6. CIS is the nation's leading community-based organization helping students succeed in school and prepare for life.
The Forsyth Academy is the county's charter non-traditional high school and a Communities In Schools' performance learning center.
"These are considered the top awards for a performance learning center, so we are thrilled to have received them," principal Brad Smith said. Georgia has 29 Communities In Schools performance learning centers. These centers received initial funding through a grant provided to Communities In Schools of Georgia by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In the nation, there are 40 centers.
