The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, a traveling replica of the original in Washington D.C., will arrive in Roswell on Tuesday afternoon.

The 240-foot wall, which lists the names of all those killed in the Vietnam war, moves in a patriotically themed semi-trailer with a motorcycle escort of more than 70 Vietnam veterans and supporters.

The wall will be assembled over the next three days to be ready for viewing on Friday, at Green Lawn Cemetery. An opening ceremony is set for 10 a.m. and viewing begins at 11 a.m. Names of the dead will be read around the clock.

A candlelight memorial service is set for 9 p.m. Saturday.

The exhibit is free and open around the clock until 6 p.m on Sunday. A computer will be available so visitors can locate specific names. People may leave memorials or tributes.

The three-quarters scale replica travels around the country so people who cannot make the trek to the capital can share in the experience of seeing the black, reflective wall.
