Lake Lanier Islands will benefit from grants and loans announced Tuesday by Gov. Sonny Perdue.
"Infrastructure improvements increase the quality of life for Georgia citizens, and they help cities and counties create jobs and promote economic development," Perdue said in a prepared statement.

The Lake Lanier Islands Development Authority (LLIDA) has been approved for a loan of $15 million for the construction of a 500,000 gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant. The authority will pay 3.75 percent interest on the 15-year loan, according to information provided by the governor's office.
