On Wednesday, Love Shack owner John Cornetta notified the city that it owes him $665,000 in lost profits because Johns Creek for months hasn't allowed the store to put up a sign.

On Thursday, the Code Enforcement Officer Reginald Smith notified Cornetta that the city had denied the shop's request for a regular business license. Without a license, Cornetta could be forced to close. But City Manager John Kachmar said the denial was based on the store's inventory when Cornetta filed for the license in January.

If Cornetta were to reapply, Kachmar said, the city would take a new look at whether the store complies with city zoning laws. The city has argued that the Love Shack is violating the law by operating an adult business in an area not zoned for sexually oriented businesses. Cornetta claims various exceptions to the law allow him to be there.

Following a loss in Fulton Superior Court Feb. 28, Cornetta had tried to clean up the adult novelty store located in the heart of Johns Creek.
