The Johns Creek logo situation is fluid. The consultant drawing the city's new symbol had hoped to bring something to a work session this week, but decided more time to tweak it.

City leaders hope to be able to review the finalists sometime next month.

"We had more additional input from council members and we wanted to incorporate those into the designs," said Bill Doughty, spokesman for the city. "We fully expected there would be some give and take on design concepts. We're not facing any kind of a hard timeline, but we would like to get it finished as soon as possible."

Leaders at the fledgling city of Johns Creek, the north Fulton community known for manicured subdivisions, red-brick technology park and upscale shops, want a new logo, deeming the old too boring.

Inward Solutions, an Alpharetta graphics design company, conducted a survey of Johns Creek residents and came up with more than 50 options.

After winnowing the list, the firm presented the city council with a dozen choices during a recent work session. The city council narrowed the list to four and offered suggestions on possible modifications to improve those.

The logo will adorn city vehicles and uniforms, and be the most visible symbol of the city.
