State Politics and Government Editor Susan Abramson has been with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for nine years. This is her fourth legislative session. James Salzer writes about the governor, budget and tax issues, politics and ethics at the Capitol. Salzer has been with the Journal-Constitution for seven years, previously covering state education policy and colleges. Sonji Jacobs has covered the Georgia Senate and state politics for the Journal-Constitution since joining the newspaper in January 2004. Jacobs moved to Atlanta after working as a reporter for nearly five years at the Miami Herald. Jeremy Redmon covers the House of Representatives. Previously, he reported on the 2006 gubernatorial race between Gov. Sonny Perdue and Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor. Jim Galloway works with Tom Baxter to produce the Journal-Constitution's Political Insider column, the newspaper's blog covering politics in Georgia and the South. Ben Gray came to work as a staff photographer for the Journal-Constitution in 1998. This will be his fifth year covering the legislative session.
