Gwinnett County police are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another man seriously injured in unincorporated Gwinnett County.

Police said the incident began Saturday around 8:30 p.m. when 28-year-old Valencia Sims attempted to move out of a home in the 2400 block of Rockwood Way.

Sims brought four men with her to help in the move and an argument broke out between Sims’ ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Elliot Ford, and one of the men, according to spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli.

During the argument the men exchanged gunfire, wounding Ford and killing one man, whose name has not been released by police. Officers found the victim in the driveway and later found Ford, wounded, in a neighbor’s yard. As of Saturday, Ford was in stable condition at an area hospital, according to police.

Schiralli said Sims and the other three men fled the scene but were later stopped by a patrol car and taken in for questioning.

No charges have yet been filed.
