Gwinnett County police Tuesday were investigating a deadly home invasion at an apartment complex near Tucker.
Robbery was the apparent motive for the 2:30 a.m. incident at the Villa Nueva apartments in the 6200 block of South Norcross Tucker Road, said Gwinnett police homicide Sgt. Victor Pesaresi.

One person was killed during a home invasion around 2:30 a.m. at the Villa Nueva apartment complex on South Norcross Tucker Road.
Pesaresi said there were multiple people living in the apartment the two suspects forced their way into.
The shooting victim, a Hispanic male in his late 30s or 40s, has not yet been identified. A second person was pistol-whipped and taken to a local hospital.
Detectives were interviewing at least five witnesses, Pesaresi said.
Asked why that particular apartment was targeted and whether the incident could be drug-related, Pesaresi said, “I can’t say yes and I ain’t saying no that drugs could be involved. That’s still being investigated.”
