A 17-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly gunning down a man during an attempted robbery at a Norcross extended-stay motel.
Casey Jerome Bunting faces murder charges in the Sept. 17 death of Robert Montgomery, 48, following an confrontation in Montgomery’s motel room at Allround Suites on Medlock Bridge Road.
Bunting, arrested Monday, has addresses in Atlanta and Norcross, according to jail records.
Capt. Brian Harr, spokesman for the Norcross Police Department, said investigators are still looking for other suspects.
“We haven’t identified anybody yet, but the information we have it was not just a single person involved,” Harr said.
Police officers found Montgomery lying unconscious in a breezeway outside of his room, bleeding heavily from a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.
Other residents of the extended-stay motel said Montgomery was a construction worker who had been living there for about a year.
