A 54-year-old electrical contractor was electrocuted Tuesday while working at the Forum shopping center near Norcross.
Gwinnett fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the man was unconscious and not breathing when firefighters arrived at about 9 a.m. at the shopping center at 5131 Peachtree Parkway.

He was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to an area hospital, said Ted Bailey of the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office.
The contractor reportedly had been working on an electrical box behind part of the shopping center that is under renovation. Rutledge said power was being supplied to the building through a large portable generator in the parking lot.
Authorities did not release the contractor's name on Tuesday, until they could notify his relatives.
Firefighters have notified OSHA and a building inspector about the accident, Rutledge said.
