Several teams of young people from metro Atlanta placed in the top five of competition in the first Youth North American Bridge Championship, held this weekend in Norcross.
More than 250 youngsters ages 7 to 18 from around the country participated in the championship, which concluded Sunday. according to event spokeswoman Doreen Stephens.

In the Swiss Team competition, the team of Arjun Dhir, Mili Raina and Kenneth Yang, of Alpharetta, tied for second and third place with the team of Richard Jeng and Andrew Jeng, of Johns Creek.
Zandy Rizzo and Arjun Dhir, of Alpharetta placed fifth in the top level of Youth National Pairs; Surabhi Ghai and Mili Raina, of Alpharetta, placed fifth in the second level; and Bill Panfel and Jake Panfel, of Marietta, earned second place in the third level.
