Arrest made in fatal shooting of boy in DeKalb

Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a boy in south DeKalb County Wednesday.

The boy was shot around 3 p.m. near the intersections of Melody and Rebecca lanes, DeKalb Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

The boy was found shot near an abandoned house and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Parish said.

Parish said the shooting is still under investigation and she could not release details, including the identity of the suspect nor the victim’s age.
