Beating victim’s identity kept private

Family members have come forward to identify a man found last week unconscious outside an auto parts store, DeKalb County police said Tuesday.
Police will not release his name at the request of family members, spokeswoman Bettina Durant said.

This man was found unconscious May 27 on Columbia Drive.
The man was found May 27 on the sidewalk outside the Advance Auto Parts store on Columbia Drive. He had suffered a skull fracture.
Police believed at the time the man was a victim of a robbery or assault.
