With double-murder suspect Derrick Yancey still on the run, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has turned to “America’s Most Wanted” to help find him.

Information about the search for Yancey went up on the television show’s Web site (www.amw.com) overnight, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Mikki Jones said Tuesday. DeKalb officials are also working with national authorities to find Yancey, who skipped out on house arrest over the weekend.

Jones said anything reported that helps locate Yancey will be kept confidential. The public can also call America’s Most Wanted at 1-800-CRIMETV or the sheriff’s office fugitive unit at 404-298-8200.

A former DeKalb sheriff’s deputy, Yancey has been indicted in the June shooting deaths of his wife Linda, 44, and a day laborer, Marcial Cax Puluc, 20. Yancey had blamed Puluc, a Guatemalan day laborer, for his wife’s slaying, saying he then shot the young man in self-defense. But authorities said lab tests indicated that Derrick Yancey shot both victims.

A judge on Monday revoked bond for Yancey and also blasted the county’s Pretrial Services for allowing him to escape. Yancey got almost a 12-hour head start before the Sheriff’s Office was notified that his ankle bracelet had been tampered with on Saturday.
