Free peek at Waffle House Museum Saturday

The public is invited to get a peek of the new Waffle House Museum in Avondale Estates on Saturday.

The viewing will let people visit the 13-stool diner and storefront on East College Avenue, which has been restored and stocked with memorabilia, displays and a jukebox that features oldies and original Waffle House songs.

The chain, which now operates more than 1,500 eateries in 25 states, opened in Avondale in 1955.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
