A Decatur car dealership has closed its doors. Premier Chrysler Jeep Dodge was closed Monday by a receiver at the direction of a Gwinnett County judge, according to a notice posted at the business.
A telephone call to the dealership was not answered Thursday.
New and used cars remained on the lot at the dealership on Church Street on Thursday.
A spokesman for the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs advised concerned customers, such as those with trade-in issues, to read the consumer alert in the “What’s New” column on its home page, www.consumer.ga.gov.
Consumer Affairs spokesman Shawn Conroy said information on that site and another of the office’s Web sites, www.consumered.com, would apply generally.
The consumer alert was posted after auto dealer Bill Heard Enterprises, one of the leading U.S. sellers of Chevrolet vehicles, closed all its 14 dealerships a few weeks ago, putting 2,700 people out of work.
Heard had five dealerships in Georgia — four in metro Atlanta and one in Columbus.
