Parish said the driver of a Toyota Camry pulled out of To Lani Drive into the path of a sport utility vehicle.

The man driving the Camry died at the scene, Parish said. A 6-year-old passenger in his car was seriously injured.

Three other passengers in the Camry, ages 7, 15 and 17, sustained moderate injuries, Parish said.

The driver of the SUV and a 9-year-old passenger in that vehicle were hospitalized for treatment of injuries that Parish said were not life-threatening.

The names of those killed and injured have not been released.
