DeKalb County police have one suspect in custody Sunday and are searching for four others involved in a smash-and-grab jewelry robbery at Northlake Mall.

The five suspects shattered a glass display case at the Charms of Gold kiosk about 7 p.m. Saturday, then ran off with the merchandise, said Officer Marcus Hodge, a police spokesman.

An off-duty police officer working at the mall caught one of the suspects, whose name police declined to release, and recovered most of the stolen items, Hodge said. The other suspects are still at large.

A description of what was taken and their total value was not immediately available Sunday.

No injuries were reported.
