Water in DeKalb now safe to drink
County lifts its boil-water advisory

A boil water advisory was lifted Thursday afternoon for all zip codes in DeKalb County.
"DeKalb County Watershed Management officials conducted several tests," the county said in a press release at about 3:30 p.m. "Based on the results, officials have determined that all water is safe for drinking and normal use."

The county said it is not necessary for water customers to flush any lines.
The advisory had been in place for much of the county since Tuesday night. It was announced after a power loss at the Scott Candler Water Plant.
A loss of pressure can leave the plant's supply vulnerable to disease-causing bacteria. Officials said that probably didn't happen but the boil advisory was precautionary.
