The woman whose tirade against an elderly MARTA train passenger was caught on video has been released from jail and is living in a personal care home for the mentally ill.
Nafiza Ziyad, 25, must live at the facility in order to remain out of the DeKalb County jail on bond, defense attorney Derek Gage of the DeKalb County public defender's office said Tuesday.

The name and location of the home were sealed in court records. Gage said that was done to prevent intrusions by people who know of her case through the online video and news coverage.
On the video taken March 10 and viewed more than 600,000 times on YouTube, Ziyad screams and sings rap lyrics as she threatens an elderly woman. After the video surfaced, MARTA police charged Ziyad with simple assault and other misdemeanors. She also could be sentenced to jail time for violating the terms of a one-year probation she was given in January for spitting on a MARTA cop.
Ziyad was in the DeKalb jail from May 8 until her release late Friday night, according to online jail records.
"We're not dealing with a criminal here," Gage said. "We're dealing with someone who's mentally ill and doesn't have the services available to her that she should have available to her because she is indigent."
At the personal care home, Ziyad will be monitored to be sure she stays on her medication, her lawyer said.
"She's doing very well. She's obviously extremely embarrassed about the fact that this video was so widely seen by so many people. But I think it's also kind of become a stimulus for her to take a little more responsibility in her life," Gage said.
