A DeKalb County high school student was recovering Friday from gunshot wounds suffered in a Thursday afternoon attack, police said.
Remarco Vickers, an 18-year-old student at Towers High School, was shot just before 4 p.m. in the 3400 block of Misty Valley Road, DeKalb police spokesman Marcus Hodge said.

Hodge said Vickers had just gotten off a school bus and as the bus pulled away, he was approached and shot by another male armed with a .380 handgun.
The gunman wounded Vickers in the arm and buttocks, according to Hodge. The teenager was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police had not identified a suspect Friday morning, and were still trying to determine a motive and whether the victim knew his attacker, Hodge said.
