DeKalb County police charged five people with violating a county ordinance at a weekend protest outside the Georgia Church of Scientology in Dunwoody.
The five were charged under an ordinance covering people who cause "hazardous" or "offensive" conditions. Two were arrested for using bullhorns while stepping in and out of Mount Vernon Road during the Saturday protest, police spokeswoman Keisha Williams said.

Three others were issued citations —similar to traffic tickets— because they wore gas masks concealing their faces, Williams said Monday. She said they were cited for creating "hazardous" or "offensive" conditions.
Some protesters posted online videos showing motorcycle officers pulling over motorists who honked horns as they passed the protesters. Williams said officers stopped only those drivers who were "cruising" repeatedly through the site to take part in the protest. Eight were ticketed for excessive use of horns, she said.
The online videos show police in riot gear watching dozens of people taking part in the protest, part of a nationally coordinated series of events by opponents of the church.
