DeKalb police are investigating taxi drivers who allegedly delivered beer instead of passengers.

Three drivers already face charges of selling beer without a license, and Officer Jose Ayala said Friday police are investigating whether others are involved.

Ayala said police conducting a sting operation placed calls requesting beer to taxi company dispatchers. The drivers who delivered it were arrested Feb. 8 and released on bond.

No other taxi company employees have been charged so far.

Ayala said the drivers typically would go to a liquor store and pay about $20 for beer and then charge their customers $30 or $40.
