Truck wreck scatters steel beams on I-20

All eastbound lanes of I-20 in Cobb County were briefly shut down Friday morning while crews cleared debris from a tractor-trailer wreck.

The two-vehicle crash happened just before 7 a.m. near Riverside Parkway.

A tractor-trailer lost a load of steel beams in the wreck, according to the state Department of Transportation. No serious injuries were reported.

The two center lanes of the interstate were blocked from 7 until 8 a.m., when the DOT closed all lanes while a crane and wrecker removed the beams from the roadway.

The lanes were reopened about 8:20.
