Cobb man charged in infant son’s death

An Austell man is facing murder charges in the death of his infant son, Cobb County police said Tuesday.
Morris Monroe Blue Sr. was charged late Monday with felony murder. Blue, 28, is in the county Adult Detention Center without bond, police spokesman Joseph Hernandez said in a news release.
Police went to a Jacqueline Circle home on Sunday after a 911 call that the 6-week-old boy was unresponsive after being put to bed.
Emergency workers took the infant to Wellstar Cobb Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Georgia Corrections Department records show Blue was imprisoned in July 2005 following a conviction on charges of cruelty to children and second-degree criminal damage.
He served 11 months at Dodge State Prison in Chester, according to state Department of Corrections records.
