His Georgia Bulldogs lost Saturday to archrival Georgia Tech. But at the end of the day, Roy Hixon couldn’t have been happier.
The Marietta resident won the $203,300 top payout from a Fantasy 5 ticket. The Georgia Lottery said Hixon, a 49-year-old handyman, purchased the Quik Pik ticket at a RaceTrac station at 2337 Canton Road.
Hixon’s ticket matched all five winning numbers in the Nov. 28 Fantasy 5 drawing.
The RaceTrac store will receive a $6,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Hixon learned he had a winning ticket after watching Saturday’s game, according to a Georgia Lottery press release.
“I was upset about the football game, but I’m excited about my lottery win,” he said in the release.
Hixon could not be reached for comment Wednesday. The married father of two grown children told lottery officials he plans to donate to various charities.
