Acworth police are searching for a suspect wearing a black motorcycle helmet who robbed a Regions Bank Friday.

The suspect entered the bank at 4590 Morningside Drive at the corner of Old 41 Highway around 3:20 p.m. with a tinted full face motorcycle helmet demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he left on foot.

“We believe that he had a vehicle waiting for him in a nearby parking lot,” Acworth police spokesman Maj. Wayne Dennard said.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 6-feet to 6-feet-3 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up jacket, black gloves and a white T-shirt.

Police are also looking for a “person of interest” that may be connected to the robbery, Dennard said. On Nov. 26, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet entered a bank in unincorporated Cobb County, but left without making a transaction after being asked to remove the helmet, Dennard said.

“This person seemed nervous and left when asked to remove the helmet by a bank employee,” Dennard said. He did not know the location of that incident.

Anyone with information, should call Acworth police at 770-974-3111.
