Republicans seem to rule Cobb's qualifying list

Four is the most important number to emerge from the final day of qualifying for elections in Cobb County.

Four Democrats are challenging Annette Kesting, who is seeking a second term representing southwest Cobb County on the county commission.

Four Republicans want a crack at the school board seat in East Cobb being vacated by Johnny Johnson.

As the weeklong period to file for the July 15 primary election closed, seven Republican incumbents in Cobb had no primary opposition, and five of them, including Commission Chairman Sam Olens, saw no Democrat file to run against them in November.
