Shaw contacted Staley's office Thursday morning and was ordered to be in court Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Shaw represents Michael Darrell Chastang, the mastermind in last year's bank theft at a Bank of America branch inside an Acworth Kroger.
Chastang was convicted of theft by taking on March 7. His sentencing was scheduled for Thursday. But when Shaw didn't show up, Staley found the lawyer in contempt of court and issued an arrest warrant. She postponed Chastang's sentencing.
It is unclear if Chastang will be sentenced next week.
Reached at his office Thursday Shaw said: "I an doing good. I had a personal issue and I didn't make it....Because of my personal situation I wasn't able to call her [Staley]."
Staley had also issued an arrest warrant for Atlanta attorney Brian Gardiner, who assisted Shaw during Chastang's trial.
But Staley lifted the contempt order after Gardiner walked into the courtroom about an hour after the judge's staff called him.
Chastang was the man who put the two women who pulled off the job, Heather Lyn Johnston and Ashley Nicole Miller, in contact with the bank teller, Benny Herman Allen III, who handed the women $10,966 in cash.
Johnston, Miller and Allen all pleaded guilty to theft by taking and testified for the prosecution during Chastang's trial. They will be sentenced Monday.
