A Cobb jury convicted the mastermind in the Barbie Bandits case of one count of theft by taking Friday.
Prosecutors contended that Michael Darrell Chastang connected the two young women who pulled off the job with the bank teller, who turned over the cash on Feb. 27, 2007.

Chastang and three other defendants in the case will be sentenced March 19 by Cobb Superior Court Judge Mary Staley.
Chastang's family and his lawyer Joseph Shaw declined to comment after the verdict was read.
The women, Heather Lyn Johnston and Ashley Nicole Miller, and Benny Herman Allen III, the bank teller, pleaded guilty in the case and testified for the prosecution during Chastang's trial.
The case made international headlines when Cobb police released images of two young women smiling behind dark glasses as they gave the teller a demand note at a Bank of America supermarket branch in Acworth.
While local and national media were in a frenzy over the case, the two women, Johnston and Miller went shopping at Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza, buying designer shirts and shoes. They got their hair done at Carter-Barnes Hair Artisans in Buckhead.
Cobb police Det. Brad McEntyre, the lead investigator, testified Friday that he became suspicious of the bank teller when he found out how much money was taken.
McEntyre testified that "note jobs" at banks usually net robbers between $2,500 to $3,000.
The two young women walked away with $10,966.
That large amount of cash shocked him and a "red flag went up," McEntyre said.
McEntyre ran a background check on Allen and found he had an outstanding warrant on drug and weapons charges in Bartow County.
McEntyre arrested Allen on Feb. 28 on the Bartow warrant. Allen was later arrested and charged with theft by taking in the bank case.
Chastang became a suspect when he was arrested with Johnston and Miller.
Chastang had more than 100 Ecstasy pills on him.
McEntyre also showed the jury a spreadsheet with records of cell phone calls among all four of the suspects. He also prepared a PowerPoint presentation showing the flow of calls among the suspects —with Chastang's name in a red triangle in the middle.
