Gunfire was exchanged between the suspects and one of the workers, and Rolland was hit in the head, Matson said. Rolland died at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Matson said the shooting by the worker appears to be self-defense and no charges have been filed. He said detectives are reviewing the store surveillance tape to help identify the second suspect.
Matson said police are also looking for the driver of the getaway vehicle, a white pick-up truck.
