Driver sought in fatal hit-and-run

Clayton County police Friday were investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead.

The victim was trying to cross Riverdale Road near Garden Walk Boulevard shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by two vehicles, according to a police incident report.

The man, whose name has not been released, was not in a crosswalk when he was hit, Clayton police Lt. Rebecca Brown said. He died at the scene.

The driver of a Ford Expedition that hit the man stopped following the incident, but the driver of a second vehicle that also hit him did not, according to the incident report. Investigators have not released a description of the second vehicle.
