Dr. Rayasam and Anjani Prasad have invested a lot of money and memories in the Clayton County home they built 19 years ago. But with their children grown and gone, the Prasads say they no longer need a million dollars' worth of living space.

"It's hard, it's really hard," Anjani Prasad says of deciding to downsize and move from their Jonesboro property in The Landings on Lake Spivey.

The home boasts a fabulous kitchen, six bedrooms and a pool.

Dot Coughlan, the agent working to sell the home, said the Prasads "just don't need six bedrooms anymore." So, their 7,000-square-foot stucco abode, with 5 1/2 baths, is on the market for just under $1.2 million.

Interested buyers enter from a picturesque courtyard leading to customized leaded glass front doors and a marble foyer.

A loft overlooks the main level living room with its elongated built-in display shelves, custom molding, wet bar and hardwood floors. Also on the ground floor are a kitchen with Corian counters, the master bedroom and spa bath, formal dining space and laundry room with wet sink.

A sunroom gives view to, perhaps, the most appealing attraction of this home: a backyard that slopes down to the edge of Lake Spivey. There's also a covered boat dock and deck. A pool connects to the home's terrace level, where there's more indoor living space.

Anjani Prasad figures when her house does sell, location will be a big factor, since it's only 20 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

"That's one of the main reasons we moved here," she said.
