Pot-growing operation found in Woodstock home

Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation when they went to a Woodstock home on a domestic dispute call, officials said.

Deputies arrested Nicholas Lyle, 29, and Michael Ammons, 35, on charges of manufacturing marijuana. Deputies made the discovery Thursday inside a home at Golden Hills subdivision near Bells Ferry Road and Towne Lake Parkway.

Drug agents got a search warrant and found 98 plants valued at about $117,600, and equipment for the production of marijuana.

Ammons is also charged with battery under the Family Violence Act and is being held on $21,000 bond. Lyle has been released on $11,1000 bond, officials said.
