Cherokee County authorities are investigating the death of a Woodstock man who they said was run over by his longtime girlfriend Sunday afternoon.
Thomas L. White, 66, was hit by a truck driven by Melissa Houston, 38, as she attempted to leave his residence on the 800 block of New Light Road, said Cherokee County police spokesman Ron Hunton.

The two had been fighting, and as Houston drove off, White threw a brick at her truck, shattering the back seat window on the driver's side, Hunton said. Houston told deputies she circled White's yard, trying to leave the property, police said. She allegedly struck him when he jumped in front of the truck.
Houston then went to a neighbor's home, where a 911 call was placed, Hunton said. White died en route to Cherokee Northside Hospital.
No charges have been filed, though deputies said the investigation continues.
