Try Endenu for a trendy urban experience just a block from the aquarium. The menu ranges from chicken tenders to complete meals, and at night the restaurant doubles as a music and fashion showcase.
Philly Boys Cheesesteaks specializes in its namesake in a building just northwest of the aquarium's parking deck. On the east side of Centennial Olympic Park, Just Around the Corner serves burgers, wings and fries that many diners take to the patio just outside. Golden Buddha, on the ground floor of the Philips Arena parking deck, offers Chinese, Japanese and Thai selections.
FOOD COURTS
Three food courts offer the usual fare in CNN Center, Peachtree Center and Underground Atlanta.
A SHORT WALK
Several destination restaurants are a short walk from the Georgia Aquarium.
McCormick & Schmick's offers a wide selection of seafood at CNN Center. Ruth's Chris Steak House, in the Embassy Suites Hotel adjacent to the aquarium, has tables with a nice view of Centennial Olympic Park. CNN founder Ted Turner's restaurant, Ted's Montana Grill, serves its famed low-fat bison in a restaurant on Luckie Street, just east of the park.
On Peachtree Street, near MARTA's Peachtree Center station, choices include Ray's in the City seafood restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe, Hooters, and Durango Oak Fire Steakhouse. The path to the aquarium also passes Pittypat's Porch, which serves traditional Southern meals.
BROAD STREET
The restaurant row for many downtown office workers and college students is Broad Street, a block west of Peachtree Street near Five Points. There's a small array of local and national fast-food chains, along with a few mom-and-pop places.
A LIGHT SNACK
For snacks and sandwiches near the aquarium, the Park Avenue Deli and Market has a wide selection in Embassy Suites. The Fountainside Café, in Centennial Olympic Park, has snacks and soft drinks and a view of the famous interactive water fountains.
