The aquarium opens to annual pass holders Nov. 21-22. General admission ticket holders can visit beginning Nov. 23.

Initially, the aquarium is using a "time ticketing" system to control crowds. Visitors buy their tickets and specify the time they will arrive. They can stay as long as they choose.

Go to the aquarium's Web site (georgiaaquarium.org). Or call 404-581-4000. Tickets can also be purchased at the aquarium after it opens.

General admission: Adult, $22.75; child (age 3-12), $17; senior (age 55+), $19.50.

Annual pass: Adult $62.50; child (age 3-12), $45.50; senior (age 55+), $51.50. Annual pass benefits include unlimited visits for the year, 20 percent discount at Café Aquaria food court, 20 percent discount at Beyond the Reef and Sand Dollars gift shops, and a quarterly e-newsletter.

Hours: Monday-Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

WHERE TO EAT

The Café Aquaria food court has everything from ice cream to gourmet sandwiches. A hamburger is $4.75; chicken quesadilla, $6.95; fried green tomato BLT, $6.95; large french fries, $2.50. Pizzas can be had starting at $4.75 and "kid's meals" starting at $4.50.

WHERE TO SHOP

There are two gift shops — Beyond the Reef and Sand Dollars, which offer everything from apparel to collectibles to custom pieces of art. There's also a light table where kids can trace aquatic creatures while their parents shop.
