Women’s clash led to 6 carloads of people at brawl

Fulton County police said a melee that erupted outside a south Fulton residence early Tuesday morning was part of an ongoing conflict between two women who have children by the same man.

Two men were wounded and 11 people were arrested, said Fulton County police spokeswoman Melissa Parker.

Parker said the fracas started about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday on Westford Circle off Old National Highway at the residence of Reba Talton, 28. Talton and Pamela Thompson, 20, both have children by a man police identified as Michael Crane. Talton said he’d just left her house when the conflict occurred. Thompson could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

According to Talton, Thompson showed up at her house and the two women fought. Thompson returned a short time later, saying she had lost her cellphone, Talton said.

Later, Parker said, “Ms. Thompson drove to Ms. Talton’s residence with approximately six carloads of people wanting to fight.”

Shortly after that battle began, the two groups exchanged gunfire.

John Talton, 22, and Fernando Broughton, 30, were wounded by gunfire, Parker said. Both men were in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

“There were many juveniles on the scene at the time the gunfire was exchanged,” Parker said, adding that one of the vehicles that drove to the scene had about eight children inside, ranging in age from one to nine.

Charges against the 11 included aggravated assault, battery, disorderly conduct and cruelty to children. Thompson was among the people charged.
