Police Tuesday captured the second of two teens they said escaped a south Fulton County group home after kidnapping a counselor and taking his car.

The 16-year-old fugitive, a 6-foot-1, 438-pound male, was captured by Athens-Clarke County police around 3 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said. His name was not released because of his age.

The other teen, Zvia Moon, 17, was arrested near Athens about daybreak.

The two escaped from the group home on Bakers Ferry Road around midnight Tuesday morning.

Fulton County police were called to the facility about midnight because of a disturbance at the group home, Fulton County police spokeswoman Melissa Parker said. She said there was evidence of a struggle inside.

“Two of the juveniles overpowered the counselor … and had fled in his vehicle.”

Charges against the teens are pending, she said. But police will first need to talk to the counselor, James Green, who went into surgery earlier today for non-life-threatening injuries.

“The counselor wasn’t in any condition to be questioned,” Parker said.

Green, 50, was found at a hospital about 60 miles from the group home, Parker said. Parker said Green had been pushed from his vehicle while it was moving on a highway near Monroe.

“He was out there for about an hour before somebody found him,” she said.
