Teens injured in stolen van crash

One juvenile was critically injured and four others sustained minor injuries early Monday when the stolen minivan they were in wrecked in southwest Atlanta.
Atlanta police spokesman James Polite said thatwhen the stolen van was spotted by officers around 1 a.m., the boys, ranging in age from 12 to 15, “took off at a high rate of speed and crashed on Windsor Street.”

The critically injured boy was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. His name and age were not available at mid-morning.
Polite said the boys had just left a West End teen club when the crash happened.
“The question that’s raised is, ‘Why were they not at home or supervised?’” Polite said.
